STUDY ON PUBLIC RESPONSES TO THE ARMENIAN GENOCIDE
This study is being conducted by Sareen Dilsizian, undergraduate student, Lucas Mazur, doctoral student, and Dr. Johanna Ray Vollhardt, Assistant Professor of Psychology, all at Clark University.
The purpose of the study is to explore your thoughts about common public responses to the Armenian Genocide. You will read excerpts from reports of these responses will be asked a series of questions about your opinions as well as related social and political issues. In addition, you will be asked to provide demographic information.
Your open and reflected response will be of great help to us, and we thank you in advance for your efforts! The study should not take more than about
20 minutes
to complete and you will be entered in a raffle for
one out of two $ 50 Amazon gift cards
if you participate. We will conduct the drawing and notify the winners after the study is completed.
We only foresee minimal risks in this study. Specifically, the excerpts you will read deal with atrocities committed during the Armenian Genocide as well as with public responses to the Armenian Genocide. Both topics are potentially upsetting. Therefore, you may terminate your participation at any time. You are also free to skip any sections you want, and you may choose not to answer any questions you do not wish to answer. Your participation is entirely voluntary and you may discontinue the study without any negative consequences at any time. Please note that the materials we use in this study do not reflect the researchers’ opinion about these issues - they are public responses to the Armenian Genocide and we are interested in your thoughts about these responses and related issues.
Your answers in this study are anonymous. Names will never be recorded on the questionnaires. In addition, data will only be reported in aggregate form, making it impossible to discern individual responses. Electronic data files will be stored on password protected computers. Only the researchers and authorized undergraduate research assistants working under their supervision will have access to this data.
